Spring 2024: ICS Course Restrictions
It is highly recommended that students check this page periodically. Course restrictions are subject to change.
ICS Student Affairs reserves the right to adjust restrictions and the timeline at any time.
- The online listing will be updated by February 26th, 2024. Until then, refer to the General Catalogue for the most accurate and up-to-date prerequisite information.

- Important: If you satisfied any part of a course’s prerequisite(s) at another institution and you have not yet been cleared to enroll in that course, be sure to submit an Online Course Prerequisite Clearing Request.
The School of ICS majors will have priority for seating in most School of ICS courses until 12:00pm, March 20th, 2024. See the detailed timeline for specific information.
- If a course is a core requirement for an ICS degree, first consideration is given to students in that major.
- If a course is a Specialization or Track requirement for an ICS degree, second consideration is given to students pursuing that Specialization or Track.
- If a course is a core requirement for a degree outside of ICS, third consideration will be given to students in that major following the schedule outlined on this page.
- Majors outside the School of ICS may begin enrolling in ICS courses on March 20th, 2024 at 12:00pm.
- Quantitative Economics Juniors and Seniors will be able to enroll in STATS 120C from 3/5/24 until 9:00am, 3/8/24.
- Computer Engineering majors will be able to enroll in ICS 6D starting 8:00am, 3/13/24 until 3/15/24.
- CSE majors under the School of Engineering: if you meet the prerequisites but are unable to register in an upper-division CS course (100-189) contact ICS Student Affairs for assistance. (Note: INF courses (100-173) will be available to CSE majors beginning 3/8/24).
- Any non-ICS student found to be enrolled in ICS courses without permission from ICS Student Affairs before noon on March 15thwill be dropped.
