Habiba Farrukh

Farrukh’s research interests broadly lie in the areas of security and privacy and mobile computing. The advanced computing and sensing capabilities of mobile systems make them attractive targets for attackers, threatening users’ security and privacy. Farrukh’s research combines system design, signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning methods to investigate these threats and propose methods for securing modern mobile and IoT systems and protecting users’ privacy. She works on designing practical solutions to address the security limitations of existing systems and emerging computing platforms. She also explores the impact of these limitations on developers and end users and proposes secure and usable systems that address the challenges of these new platforms.
