International students may be eligible for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), a type of employment authorization that allows students to complete an internship. During the academic year, international students are allowed to work only part-time, but they can go full-time in the Summer Session.
More information about the CPT eligibility, policies, and application can be found through the International Center.
International students who need to enroll in ICS 192 must submit these materials to ucounsel@uci.edu before the deadline:
- CPT application: In the email, confirm your expected date of graduation (quarter/year). This will need to be signed by an ICS advisor and returned to the International Center for final review.
- ICS 192 Enrollment Application Form
- Job Offer Letter with the following information:
– Company’s letterhead
– Be addressed to you
– Job title
– Job description
– Location of employment
– Specify if work is part-time/full-time
– Specify the exact start and end date of employment (The internship must begin on or after “quarter start date” and must end on or before the “quarter end date,” so review the UCI Academic Calendar to determine the dates of CPT for the quarter which you are applying)
– Employer’s signature
